Introduction
Portland Bill Is a lighthouse on the tip of Portland. We went to Portland for a day, and I am going to share with you stuff about Portland and fun things to do in Portland. I am ava and am 10 years old. I have two sisters their names are Skye and violet. Skye is the oldest the smartest and most device connect I am the middle child the most creative and funny, violet is the youngest the most imaginative and cheeky.
Things to do:
At Portland there is so many things to do there! Everything is so fun, and I just known you will enjoy it! At Portland you can climb the light house and have a tour of it, you can climb on rocks, you can have afternoon tea. Also, you can go to the Olympic rings and fancies farm but those two things we did not have enough time to go to. So, I can’t go into as much detail but you can go and have a look. I known fancies farm will be good because it has animals and the Olympic rings you can go up to and take photos but there is a small fence around so you cannot touch it. With the things we did I will put in separate paragraphs down below so you can check those out.
Portland Bill:
Portland bill is a light house you can go in and there is a place you can book to climb the light house with a tour. We did that and then in the light house there is also a gift shop. Then ten minutes before your light house tour climbing start you can go in and find out facts it was like a little museum. Then the lady came and took us to a room and there was the original light bulb, and she said some facts about it. I am not going to tell you the facts so you can find out when you go there but, in that room, she also told you a couple rules about climbing the light house. One fact is that there is 155 stair that you climb up it sounds very trying but is not. I found out so many facts from the lady who gave us the tour they were all interesting. Another reason I liked it was because the lady who took us on the tour was funny which made it so much better even if you don’t get the lady, I got with the tour all the staff members that I meat there were kind. When you climb the light house its very fun it was not what I was expecting because we got to hear the noise of the lighthouse. Also, we got to go to the top and I thought we were not going to be allowed to the top.
Climbing rocks:
When you park in the car park you walk out and just near the car park is a bunch of rocks that you can jump on and climb. If you walk a bit further there is a pile of rocks, you can put your known rock on. When you put your rock on you can’t disturb the other rocks only put one on or it is bad luck. When I went there with my next-door neighbour it was so fun and I put my rock on then. My dad really wanted to put his rock on and went to find two rocks for him and my mum and they put them on. Behind that is a load of rocks that we climbed on when there were some cracks, so you had to be carful me and my family climbed on lots of rocks and we found some rock pools with fish I caught a fast fish but then put i straight back, so I did not hurt it. I saw some people climbing a massive cliff rock it was hanging offer the sea on it it Sayed climbers climb at you known risk. It looked cool and I would do it me and Skye would do it together when we are older because we are both dare devils. this was definitely one of my favourite things we did today.
Afternoon tea:
For a lunch we had afternoon tea! It was very good and delicious there was a shop on the other side of it lots of stuff in there caught my eye. That I really wanted as a child so if you are an adult be careful with kids in that shop violet asked for about 20 things me and Skye got necklace hers was an amethyst because that is her birth stone and my necklace had the first letter of my name on. There is not much to say expect the food was very yummy. One thing that I did not know where to put in is that we played a family game of it, and it was so fun I hardly see my parents run when I am it, I chassed my dad because he has the funniest run.
Food / Drinks:
There was a good selection of food and drinks you could chose from. I am gluten free and it is really hard to find places to eat but there was a place and they done cream tea and there was gluten free scones as well as normal and it came with pots of jam and cream my parent got tea me and my sisters don’t like tea so Skye got a hot chocolate (even though it was hot outside) volet got an apple juice and I got a coke on the way back home we were going to stop at a pub for the adults to get a drink and we were going to get a bag of crips. but their menu for dinner looks really good and they had gluten free stuff, so we had dinner there it was the perfect place for my friend because it was expensive and it was cooled Billy winters and billie is her name. Our parents said it was expensive but everything smelt really good so we got 3 things between us we got shrimp ring tacos and fish and chips and there was all gluten free so I could try all of them.
Billy winters:
For dinner we went to billy winters if you want to see about the food then go to the food section this is the things, we did there. We got our drinks and then had a bit of it and outside was a beach so me Skye and violet skimmed stones I was not very good, but I got three. The set up I thought was really cool the had a like inside outside area because there was a canopy and table and chairs a door that led the beach, there was a outside area and a little inside area. After dinner we had the chose of going home or staying for another half a hour so we stayed we took our shoes and Socks of and we went a bit in the water so it was easier to skim rocks me and Skye stayed violet went in. It hurt going In and out because we were bare footed, and it was a rocky beach!
